The second half will feature Festmusik der Stadt Wien by Richard Strauss, a huge virtuosic piece that's a concerto for brass in all but name. A rare but welcome outing for Jan Koetsier's forthright and energetic Symphony for Brass and Sibelius's Finlandia brings the concert to a rousing conclusion. |

Initially independant, the Cheddar Valley Music Club is now run by Somerset Music service. Paul Harris played in the very first concert in December 1979. |
